Dachshund Personality
Dachshunds are puppies very stubborn, clever, devoted, lively, playful, and courageous. First of all, these puppies were bred at the beginning to chase small prey and take them to their owners. After a while, they became in a home pet because of their lovely and playful personality. Dachshund puppies are intelligent and audacious dogs, therefore, they are watchdogs that help and protect the people they love. Dachshund puppies have a powerful nose so they will find all the food if you leave it unprotected, keep the food that is not his out of reach for avoiding problems.
Puppies Characteristics
Their origin was in Germany. Dachshund’s life expectancy ranges between 12 to 14 years. These dogs are easy to recognize because of their shape since they are all elongated with short legs and wavy ears. Dachshund weight goes up to 9 pounds. Also, its size does not exceed 14 inches. Dachshund come in a variety of colors and patterns: red, cream, black and tan, chocolate and tan, blue and tan. Besides, these dogs have three types of coat: smooth, wire-haired, or long-haired. The perfect company and the smallest friend you could have.
Dachshund Care
These puppies are very active,anyway, they need more than regular exercise not only to avoid injuries but also to build strong muscles. Besides, Dachshund are easy to adapt to any lifestyle ( rural or urban areas) which make them the perfect puppy for everybody. Moreover, it is advisable daily exercise due to they could get overweight. The care of his coat is not a big problem it is more careful when brushing and a bit of cutting from time to time, however what we should pay attention to is the care of his nails since they grow very fast and they can bother him.
